Making Friends

Read the poem.  Can you answer the questions?

Making Friends
Before you became a friend of mine
We knew each other for quite some time
I hate to say we wasted a year and a half,
I'm glad we can now look back and laugh.

It's funny how things turned out,
I wish I could say I never had a doubt.
Truth is, I'm proud to say,
You and I have come a long, long way.

1)     How long had they known each other?
2)     Why does the author say ‘We wasted a year and a half.’?
3)     Look in a dictionary to find out what the word ‘doubt’ means.
4)     Look in a dictionary and find out what the word ‘proud’ means.
5)     Think of a time when you had a ‘laugh’ with one of your friends.  What happened?  What was so funny?
